More than a policy on the wall.
At JL Earthworks & Design, safety is an active, enforced part of daily operations — not a binder gathering dust.
At JL Earthworks & Design, safety is an active, enforced part of daily operations. Our safety program is fully documented, maintained on every active project site, and implemented consistently by field teams.
From site-specific procedures and inspections to ongoing training and compliance tracking, our program is designed for real-world execution. This commitment supports accountability, consistency, and a safer working environment on every project we perform.
Six pillars of our safety program.
Site-Specific Procedures
Every active jobsite has its own safety plan, hazard analysis, and emergency response procedures — documented and reviewed before work starts.
Weekly Safety Meetings
Weekly toolbox talks led by site leadership — covering recent incidents in the industry, jobsite-specific hazards, and reminders on critical procedures.
Ongoing OSHA Training
Our team is actively training toward full OSHA certification. We require continuing safety education across every level of the organization — from operators to ownership.
Compliance Tracking
We document our safety program and track compliance with OSHA standards, federal and state regulations, and contract-specific safety requirements.
Daily Inspections
Equipment inspections, fall protection checks, excavation/trench inspections, and PPE verification before work begins each day.
Active & Enforced
Safety standards are enforced consistently across all crews and projects. Stop-work authority is extended to every team member.
Trench Safety
Safety is part of how we run the business.
We’re committed to ensuring the safety of our team members — not because it’s required, but because it’s the foundation of a healthy company and healthy families.
Our leadership is in the field. Our weekly meetings aren’t a formality — they’re a conversation. And our safety program is regularly evaluated and updated based on what we actually see happen on jobsites.
